New Esperance are a women's morris dancing team based in London who perform Cotswold dances in the Bledington, Fieldtown and Esperance traditions. We practise weekly in Borough, central London, with regular dance performances during the summer months.

Here is our current 2010 diary - watch this space for more events still being added..

We jump-started our 2010 season with 2 awesome weekends - St George's weekend April 23-24, and then of course our traditional May Day weekend. On St George's Day we danced in Borough Market as part of the St George in Southwark Festival, and then the following day we enjoyed the sunshine and the cream cakes at the Garden Party at St George's Gardens. Check out this article by Gina Barnes, and here is a photo of us in full flow.

Then on a sunny May Day we toured Islington with our May Milkmaids' garland. Here is a video of us at Islington Green dancing our famous Stick Chucking dance, aka Young Collins - Bledington tradition; and here we are dancing Stella, in our own Esperance tradition. The following day we performed at Folk Against Fascism's fabulous Village Fete at the QEH, South Bank Centre.

The first weekend in June saw us celebrating the 35th anniversary of Sheffield City Morris in the beautiful Peak District, in and around Thornbridge - what a fabulous and convivial weekend it was. Here are some carefully censored photos..
